My Journey

My journey in mental health started before I became a nurse. In 2010, I spent time in Africa working with orphans. This experience helped me realize how much I love helping people and taught me how to get creative in solving complex problems, even when resources are limited.

After becoming a nurse in 2012, I have worked for nearly a decade with people of all ages in mental health facilities.  Through my education and training, I have learned about the interconnectedness of the mind and the body and believe that mental health is directly connected to our overall well-being.   I use a patient-centered and holistic approach to treat the whole person.  While medication can be an effective tool in managing mental health, I also believe in the value of complementary and alternative approaches to treatment such as therapy, nutritional interventions, physical activity, and proper sleep hygiene to promote overall well-being.

I am dedicated to working closely with patients and their families to deliver the highest quality, evidence-based care. By integrating holistic treatment options and taking the time to truly listen, I aim to honor each patient’s unique experience with compassion, empathy, kindness, and respect.

How did Luke Wellness get it’s name?

Luke Wellness was named in memory of a vibrant young man—Luke, a college student with a bright future, a generous heart, and a quiet struggle. Too many of us have known a 'Luke'—someone whose life ended too soon, but whose story inspires us to create a future where young people are supported, understood, and given the room to grow—and where healing is always within reach.

At Luke Wellness, we carry his name with deep purpose. It fuels our mission to ensure that no one has to suffer in silence. We believe that every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported with compassionate, accessible, and timely mental health care. Luke’s name means “light-giving”, and his story drives us to do better.
